The Story

"

A Doctor's Prescription

Dr. John Middleton was a Melbourne physician who believed the Yarra Valley could produce wines to rival Bordeaux. In 1971, he planted all five Bordeaux varieties on a north-facing slope at Lilydale. The medical establishment thought him mad. The wine world would later call him a visionary.
